Welcome to Crocodile Conservation Awareness Project (CCAP), Nepal

Crocodiles are important for several aspects, such as their existence indicates the healthy aquatic ecosystem and their hide and meat has a big commercial value. As a “keystone species” crocodile maintain structure and function in aquatic ecosystem by their activities.

Among the 23 species of crocodilians only two species the Gharial Gavialis Gangeticus and the Mugger Crocodilus palustris are found in Nepal.
